General Guide only.......... for February

    Pheasants

    - all states

  • Most of the pheasants will  be finished laying by now and will be moulting. You may need to rake out their cages as there will be lots of feathers in them, making them look untidy.

  • Keep an eye on your birds to make sure none of them are picking at new blood feathers that are coming through.

  • If you wish you may take them off their higher protein diet now and feed them on mixed grain or a lower protein diet

    Waterfowl

    - northern states

  • Whistlers, Magpie Geese, Chestnut & Grey Teal, Wood Ducks, PacificBlacks, White Eye Ducks, may still be breeding through to March.

  • Raring baby ducklings.

  • Weaning baby waterfowl from parents.

    - southern states

  •  Birds should be fully grown.
