Pheasants
-
all states
-
Be sure to collect the eggs as soon as
possible after laying to avoid exposure to the hot sun at this time of year.
Store them in a cool place and turn regularly.
-
If the mother isn't sitting, set the eggs in your incubator or
under bantams no later than 10 days after being laid.
-
You should definitely have some little
chicks by now.
-
Their diet needs to be high in
protein; turkey starter, boiled egg or live-food, and some greens.
-
If you wish to put closed leg-bands on
your young stock, you will have to start putting them on soon (at roughly 6
weeks of age), otherwise you won't get them on.
-
All of the pheasants should be laying
by now.
