Pheasants
-
all states
-
Most of the pheasants start laying
this month, so make sure their diet is adequate for the breeding season.
-
As the weather is reasonably hot
already, be sure to collect eggs as soon as possible after being laid and
store them in a cool place, turning daily.
-
Keep an eye on species like Swinhoe
and Kalij as the cock bird can be quite aggressive towards their hens.
-
You may have some little pheasants
hatched towards the end of this month.
-
Make sure they have a high-protein
diet in the form of turkey starter, boiled egg or live-food and some greens,
for the new chicks.
Waterfowl
